Why I Write for Strangers
I used to think writing had to be personal to be meaningful, something kept in a journal or shared only with people I knew. But somewhere along the way, I realized that some of the most important stories are the ones we don’t know how to tell until someone else asks for them.
That’s what Spoken Mementos became for me. A quiet way to say, “This mattered.” Whether it's a first car, a dog that shaped your routine, or a place you still see in your dreams, it deserves to be written down. And sometimes, it takes a stranger to pull it out of you gently.
I don’t need to know everything to write a tribute. I just need to listen. And I think that’s why people trust me with their memories, they know I’ll treat them like they’re mine, too.
